About CheyAnna Peterson

CheyAnna Peterson is a mixed media artist and graphic designer currently living in Lexington, South Carolina. Born to a family of artists in Memphis, TN, CheyAnna’s passion for art and design runs deep. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Studio with a Graphic Design focus from the University of South Carolina in 2005. She is a Graphic Designer at the award-winning Richland Library and owns Phoenix Fire Studios, an art studio specializing in creating sandblasted glassware and gifts. When not creating, CheyAnna loves to travel, read, drink an exorbitant amount of tea, and hang out with her son and their crazy fur babies.

CheyAnna has been a self-declared ‘maker’ for as long as she can remember. Growing up with a woodworker father and a mom who has a love for fiber arts, CheyAnna has always been drawn to a variety of mediums and processes. Her current work is deeply inspired by her love of nature, whimsy, and Southern culture. She enjoys creating pieces with movement, lots of texture, and a bit of grit. Her latest pieces feature florals and wildflowers that are created with lots of textured layers of acrylic paint and mixed media. As a life-long lover of books, her work often includes rescued book pages gently incorporated into the paint layers, giving great depth and texture to the pieces. Always experimenting and playing with new techniques, CheyAnna strives to capture the beauty of nature through her art while having fun and not taking herself too seriously.
